RESTORATION WORK AT FERRELL HOSPITAL CONTINUES AFTER SIGNIFICANT FLOOD DAMAGE

5/9/2024

ELDORADO, IL –Ferrell Hospital received significant flooding damage due to the May 8 storms and remains on diversion and continues to not accept any new patients, including in the emergency department.

Restoration crews are onsite at the hospital and working to thoroughly clean and sanitize the hospital. We have been, and will remain in contact with the State of Illinois and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) to develop a timeline for reopening. At this time we do not have a definitive date of reopening. Any further updates about when we will reopen will be relayed via local media, social media and MyChart.

We have made contact with all the patients who were transported out of Ferrell Hospital to other local facilities or their homes and they are doing well.

Patients who have upcoming appointments or procedures at Ferrell Hospital and Ferrell Hospital Family Practice will be notified.

Ferrell Hospital extends our deepest gratitude to the remarkable team at Slay’s Restoration in Carmi, Illinois, the brave members of the Eldorado Fire Department, the City of Eldorado, our loyal Ferrell Hospital staff, along with our dedicated Maintenance team, and all others who have generously lent their support during our flood restoration efforts. being of our community. Your selfless contributions truly embody the spirit of unity and compassion that defines our healthcare mission. Thank you for your invaluable assistance.
