Ferrell Hospital's Kristie McDaniel receives Patient Safety Ambassador Award
Kristie McDaniel receives Patient Safety Ambassador Award
Ferrell Hospital congratulates Kristie McDaniel for receiving one of the Patient Safety Ambassador Awards from the Midwest Alliance for Patient Safety (MAPS) Patient Safety Organization (PSO).
Four awards were presented by MAPS, an IHA company, at the MAPS PSO Annual Culture of Safety Workshop in November. Two recipients received the MAPS PSO Patient Safety Champion and two recipients received the MAPS PSO Patient Safety Ambassador awards in recognition of extraordinary efforts to improve patient safety in healthcare. Ferrell Hospital is proud to announce that employee, Kristie McDaniel, received one of the Patient Safety Ambassador Awards.
The Patient Safety Ambassador Award is new for 2023. This designation is in recognition of individuals who are examples of patient safety ambassadors on a daily basis. Retha Elston of Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital received the other award alongside Kristie McDaniel.
Ferrell Hospital’s Kristie McDaniel was nominated by Barbie Moore, Director of Quality and Risk, Rachael Prather, CNO/COO, and Tony Keene, CEO, because the elements of her roles reach so many patients, teams and systems. McDaniel spearheads many process improvements and exemplifies the excellence and qualities of a patient safety team player every day.
“IHA and MAPS are proud to congratulate this year’s awardees from OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center, Fairfield Memorial Hospital, Ferrell Hospital and Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, for their steadfast commitment to prevent harm and improve patient safety,” said IHA President and CEO A.J. Wilhelmi. “The extraordinary work happening at these hospitals showcases the integrity and dedication of the Illinois healthcare community to provide a safer healthcare experience for their patients.”
